Introduction
These responses can be cut-and-paste into UR conversations or loaded into your favorite tool. In many cases, when replying, it is helpful to edit and customize one of these responses for a particular case.
I didn't include them in this document, but "Thanks!" and "You're Welcome!" should be in the editor lexicon.
Follow-Up Responses
Closed responses only after seven days of no response. Reminder response to use in your initial follow-up to a UR you've responded to. Also use reminder at seven days if no response by editor or reporter, depending on local conventions.

Chicago - Alley Issue Probable

Open Responses
These responses are intended to give users seven days in which to reply after an action or instruction. After that time, the idea is the report can be closed (your mileage may vary).
Address Adjustment
- I've forced Waze to re-register the destination house number. Please allow 48 hours for changes to be reflected in the live map.
- You will need to delete any previous searches from recent destinations or saved favorites before you save a new search for this address. Old searches will continue to give a bad location.

Detour - Traffic
- We reviewed the issue and did not find any map errors. Waze wants to save you time every way it can and may suggest complex routes based on traffic data to save time. Waze may recommend a route after the traffic has cleared up because: it doesn't know yet, other Wazers may have reported street closures, or traffic patterns. If you do not follow the route, Waze will learn from your drive and use that data in the future. We'll close this report in a few days. Thanks!

Detour - Traffic Stale (Late Detour)
- Volunteer map editors can't affect Waze's traffic reporting. Waze relies on data from Wazers to assess traffic. In the case of a recent accident or slowdown, Waze may not yet have any data on the situation and route you into it because it doesn't know. Once Waze has detected a traffic situation, it may remember after the situation changes. If you do not follow the route, Waze will learn from your drive and use that data in the future. We'll close the report in a few days. Thanks!

Google - Address Adjustment

Google - Searching Past Results
- Thank you for your report. The search feature retrieves results from a number of locations, including Google. Not all of them return correct locations. Scrolling to the bottom of the Navigate screen, you'll see "More results for 'name.'" Select that and Waze will list locations "Around You" which may be more helpful. Missing Roads - At Speed
- The roads here have been pretty thoroughly mapped and volunteers can't see anything missing that should ordinarily be there. Waze probably simply chose not to show you the road in question. When moving at highway speeds, Waze deliberately chooses not to display some nearby roads to avoid cluttering the screen. If you're certain a road is missing from the map, please reply letting us know as much as possible about the missing road. Otherwise we'll close this report in a few days. Thanks!

Standing Start ("180")
- It appears you may have asked for a new route from a standing start. When you request a route from a standing start (or waking up Waze), Waze may not know which way you are headed or may presume you're still headed in the direction last traveled. It may give you an awkward route, particularly in a parking lot with mapped parking lot roads.
- Please drive in the direction you desire to give Waze a chance to know which way you are headed and offer you a more suitable route. Waze will recalculate the route or you may ask for the route again.

Chicago - Express Lanes
- The Chicago DOT can change the direction of the express lanes at any time. We endeavor to keep the map updated to their normal schedule. If you can let us know what time the express lanes were closed we may be able to adjust the schedule. We'll close this report in a few days if we don't hear from you. Thanks!
Chicago - Marathon Closures
- Thank you for the report. Some street closures for the Chicago Marathon were not posted to the map because they were not made available to us in sufficient time. If this report is not related to the Chicago Marathon, please let us know. Otherwise, we will close this report in a few days. Thanks!

Illinois - U-Turns Allowed
- The driver is the final arbiter on route selection. If you feel a suggested route is not appropriate for any reason, please use your judgement to disregard an objectionable route suggestion. Waze will calculate a new route.
- U-Turns in Illinois are allowed under the conditions provided in the Illinois Vehicle Code (625 ILCS 5) unless restricted by the State or local municipality. The imagery we have available does not indicate any posted restrictions and we can't edit the map to countervene.

Detour - Valid Route / No Errors / No Traffic Info
- We reviewed the issue and did not find any map errors. If you feel your route is better, please use it. Waze will learn from your drives. Waze uses accumulated information and real-time traffic to select routes. When your route is faster, Waze will route you and others the faster way. You may also find your route listed as an option in Navigate -> Routes. Thanks!

- To report traffic jam conditions, please use the Report -> Traffic Jam in Waze. This will tell Waze about the problem in real-time. Traffic Jam reports can help route you and other Wazers around traffic snarls. Thanks!

Chicago - Kennedy Express Lanes Closed (Schedule)
- The Chicago DOT can change the direction of the express lanes at any time. We endeavor to keep the map updated to a normal schedule. To not adversely affect Waze routing, the ramps are set to specific schedules and are closed on weekends when they may are more often changed dynamically by the City. We appreciate your report and will continue to update the schedule as information becomes available from the City. Thanks!

Road Closed
- How long will the road be closed? For closures of only a few days, we volunteer map editors can't be much help. It takes at least that long for our edits to make it to devices! When you encounter short-term road closures in the future, please use the Report->Closure feature in the Waze app. If this is a long-term closure please respond and let us know as much as you can (how long, between which locations). - You can report a hazard in the road with "water in the road" as the description or report the road using Report->Closed. Using the voice feature, you can also report a single lane closed if that is the case.
