  • I often get a route from waze that actually is good - but in the end an other route would probably been even as good or better because of road works.

I know you can tell waze there are road works - but one is under the section closed road and one is under danger on the street. But there should be a special road work button. Where you can inform of road works - if they are reduced to one way with a traffic light (costs time), if there is a speed reduction (I had to drive trough a road work on the highway in Germany for many mile and it was 80 km/h instead of 120 km/h - so it depends where you have to drive to - but then it could be the chance to even be faster not using the highway - as example) Or I sometimes pass a sign that is saying that the road will be closed from day X to Y. But I can't make a report to waze and on day X the road is still open on waze until the first wazer drives there and has to change he's rout, because the road is closed and he didn't know. And maybe even a record button, to tell waze where the road work starts and where it ends (like the very long road work in Germany - that would have been great to know) - also because road works often produce traffic jams.

• #carpooling #pickup #groups | Although picking someone up is already implemented it could be improved greatly! I pick my friends up for college every morning and I would love Waze to offer a way to remember carpooling groups and requests. That way I would only have to open the app and let my "college group" know I'm leaving. Each one of them would receive my ETA to their location and would let them know (individually) when they have to go on the street to hop on the car. Similarly, they would also be able to check my location and ETA to their location at any time.

In Costa Rica they will start using cameras to give fines for speeding. Can Waze add this to there database so everyone knows where there located?

Gracias.

g | The biggest question at the end of each workday is what time I'll need to leave in order to get across town to the daycare before they close, allowing for traffic. It would be awesome to tell Waze what time I have to be somewhere, and it could alert me when it's time to leave, allowing for some number of minutes to get to my car, and some number of buffer minutes. - kenahoo

As for #alerting, you could set up a schedule (or have the app interface with the calendar app for those who travel around) and set up prep/buffer time so that the alert is delivered with enough time to make the decision to wait it out, take an alternate route, speed up getting ready, etc. A snooze feature would be awesome too - so that you can check again if it's better or worse. Supporting both of these scenarios ("trying to leave by XX:XX" and "need to get there by XX:XX") would be incredible. One last thing - the ability to set up holidays (when you specifically do NOT want to receive alerts, for vacation, work holiday, etc.). Most alarm clock apps could use that too. - Jeterdawg

• #private roads #usability #routing | Several housing developments near me have the posted notice, "Private road - no through traffic". I'd like to be able to label such roads in Waze. It sometimes selects those roads for my route and those roads should be avoided.

• #UI | It would be great to see this 'uservoice' wishlist a little more clear and organized. Perhaps something like voting would help everybody as well. (therefor, as a little contribution) i used the bullets, the +1's and the tags) Anyone (webapp-)suggestions? - e.g. something like workflowy.com)

• #app-interface | i would love to see the max. driving speed (like navigon) - sibejan - Dhrun : +1

• #app-directions | when searching for a shop or something, i would love to control which searchengine is the first and 2nd choice. Now Bing has brought me twice to a wrong address, while if google maps was the first picked it would have saved me twice half an hour - sibejan

• #drivingmemory | I realize that Waze does not offer the best routes based on traffic congestion between source and destination. I use a route between home and work where Waze always suggest alternative routes. Hence, why don't the developer come up with a recording function where I can record my route from start to destination and save it in my favourotes. This will allow me to select my favourite routes rather than Waze suggest a route for me (of course that can be put as an option). Bottom line, the reason why I use Waze now over Papago or Garmin is the information on traffic. On Malaysian roads, working days traffic jams are hell and you can loose half your life driving in the traffic jam. Hence, I always ask myself "Which route should I take? Would it be route 1 or route 2? But the problem now is, which has lesser traffic? Which will let me reach my destination faster? Hence, I can't seem to force Waze to use the route I take to work everyday, hence a recording function would be great where I can record the route, save it as my favourites, and on the day I want to use the route, I can view the traffic congestion on my favourite to see if I should be taking that one, OR I should be using one which Waze is suggesting instead. Bottomline, it is always about reaching the destination faster, less stressful in the most economical way possible. I believe this recording function can be done. - sibejan: I'd like this suggestion to be more short)

• #drivingoptions | There should be more options for alternate routes when choosing the "routes" option. I have 3-4 ways home from work all on minor highways or major roads, and I Waze never suggests anything other than two highway routes. TomTom always offers more suggestions.

• #onetouchzoom | Similar to Google Maps zoom, there should be a one touch zoom in and out feature. For example, double tap and hold the screen. Now if you slide finger up it will zoom in and if you slide down it should zoom out.

• #webinterface | It would be very helpful to be able to enter/edit Favorites on the Web page (My Dashboard), not just on the phone. - sibejan: +1 - fredomx: +1 - Dhrun: +1

• #mapediting | I'd like to see a feature where an editor could leave notes on the editing map for other editors to see. There are situations that call for comments/explanations. Otherwise other editors may try to fix something that was done intentionally. Could be similar to excel cell comments. I.e. a small icon that pops up when moused over or clicked.

• #public transport | Waze should embrace using public transit, not just routing cars. I think Waze should embrace the vision to route commuters via public transit options using transit route maps that are freely available online (Google Transit Feed Specification (GTFS) at http://code.google.com/p/googletransitdatafeed/wiki/PublicFeeds). The world is going green and one way to increase the Waze member base and reduce traffic (two goals that Waze has) is to encourage the use of light rail, buses, commuter trains, etc. This would also improve Waze's public image as not focused solely on driving but shows Waze has a grander vision to helping COMMUTE, not just DRIVE. I have developed complete details and will email the support@ email address within the next few days. Anyone else think this is a good idea? - sibejan: +10 (Really great idea!)

• #track known wazers | It would be nice to have some mechanism to see the location of specific wazers (that have agreed to allow you to see their location) instead of just searching a map for them. This would make it easy to see how far away somebody is who is meeting you without interrupting them while they drive. Obviously, this would need to be done carefully due to privacy concerns. - sibejan: +1

• #mileage | I think it would be a great idea to allow users to track specific driving mileage. For instance I drive for a living. It would be nice to have Waze track my work mileage so I didn't have to keep a manual mileage log. I could access my milage log from the web site and print it out to turn in with my taxes. • #mileage | A killer feature would be expenses tracker. There is not much choice around here on iOS. A good example (web only) can be found at http://www.spritmonitor.de/en/. If adding a GPS position to tank, you eventually could build an awesome database :) - laacz: +1 - NinjaKid2002 +1 - banshee463 +1

• #walking #cycling | I would love to use this nav.on my bike as well as walking. In that case you should be able to tell waze your transportation-type, so you can use other (carunfriendly) routes. - sibejan: +10

• #usability #mileage | The 200 miles restriction for planning navigation is urging me to continue using Navigon... ("Apologies - we can only provide routes under 200 miles at this. We're working on increasing it") - Banshee463 I think this has been resolved > [sibejan] i don't get the apologies pop-up anymore, but instead a pop-up telling me "route server time-out" (happens only by far away directions) - sibejan: +10

• #usablility Provide a way to mute audible warning that accompanies the pop up alert. This would allow user to listen to for example a podcast or Pandora via the car speakers while using waze and not get interrupted by an audible alert every few seconds. The pop up still provides the visual cue to alerts. - sibejan: +10

• #driving options | I was thinking the other day about how this app could help me plan out my fuel station stops (every 325 miles) on long trips. Could you add a feature to suggest Gas Stations before hitting the big "E"? Thanks! -Phil - Banshee463 +1 (An option to narrow search to "Along current Route" would accomplish this and also add other valuable functionality)

• #gas | Gas prices in Spain - The Spanish Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism has a page giving information on gas prices. Prices can be downloaded as Excel Speadsheets by fuel type. http://geoportal.mityc.es/hidrocarburos/eess/# - Mkungu - sibe jan: isn't this solved in version 3.2?

• #Point structure/reports change suggestion | I think people should get points for giving and receiving "Thanks" and also for "Not There". Keeping the map current and reporting useful things should be rewarded and would go a long way to keep the map uncluttered. Giving incentive to do so would be productive (and it is not like those points cost anything). Also there could be a mechanism that keeps track of how quickly a user's reports are thanked or "not there" to adjust how often people can post or even remove points if their reports are always crushed. I have followed a wazer for 10 miles as he/she repeatedly reported non existent things and I reported "not there". In Atlanta sometimes there are 4 or 5 wrecks in a short period and also objects in the road and other things and people who only report legitimate things hit the limit of reports and can't report serious things. If you are consistently thanked then you should be able to report more, if your reports are constantly reported "not there" within a very short time period (1 minute, 3 minutes?) you should be more limited and possibly lose at least some of the points you got for reporting the issue. - Banshee463

  • #usability | Merge redundant traffic reports within 1/3 mile of each other as they litter the map. If I am already sitting on top of a report, no need to ask if I am stuck in traffic and invite me to create another. - amoebob
  • #usability | Add an option to default to north-up orientation or at least make it sticky when pressed. - amoebob
  • #usability | I typically use the application to get perspective on the traffic several miles ahead and am typically zoomed out. At this scale, please thin/fade/hide the congestion colored stripes for nearby split one-way highway lanes moving in the opposite direction of my travel. Often, the whole highway will appear to be at a standstill when it's only the opposing one-way lanes. - amoebob
  • #usability | Please make the zoom in/out buttons easier to press. I often miss. - amoebob
  • #usability | When stopped and displaying reports within a several mile radius, please exclude car stopped on shoulder reports. - amoebob
  • #usability | A hazard ahead distance countdown dialog should not be overtaken another hazard further up the road. I often lose the chance to thank / not there hazards along busy roadways. - amoebob
  • #usability | Don't reset map panning back to my current location automatically or at least not nearly as quickly. Sometimes, while panning ahead or over to nearby roadways in passing glances, I need to focus on the road. By the time I look back, the map position has been reset. I can push the center on vehicle button when I'm ready. - amoebob

can be interesting add one option in the editor to import fixed radars on the road, or other important information.

  • #Appinterface | When route is planned you see a nice traffic overview with the traffic jams, from the start until your destination. But when you start driving the overview dissapears. It would be great if you see the upcomming traffic problems in a kind of overview from you current position towards your destination (in some kind of progress bar). Now you only see the road ahead for (lets say) 1 km.
  • #UI - Reorder menu items by press and hold to reorder and populate the route popup from the bottom time and distance control with icons from current route reports. Include explain button to explain why Waze routed you differently than you expect.
  • #appinterface | It's taking too long to tap the screen 3 times to report a police for example. Hazard report is even longer... It's just not safe to concentrate on the phone such a long time when driving. I suggest you to make a quick access icons. For example there could be a possibility to drag one of report buttons right on map. For example, I would like to have "police" and "hazard" buttons always on map and would be great if it's enough to just press them once (without choosing a details). Actually details are not always useful, more often people just want to know that there is a hazard ahead but they don't have a time to read the details. I think it's easy to implement and a lot of people would love this feature.
  • #usability | Would be really great to have voice commands. It's not necessary to recognize specific words like siri do. I just would like to record several commands for specific actions and be able to access them quickly through car handsfree. So, the use cases could be
  * press call button -> say "Waze police! -> waze will report a police here
                                     say "Waze hazard!"
  * press call button -> say "Waze navigate" -> speak the address -> follow the route

this is not such easy as adding quick access buttons, but it would be really great feature that will make Waze even more awesome and innovative.

• #drives | As I drive a lot on areas without any coverage of mobile service I would like waze to record my drives localy on my phone and upload this information later when a network is available. Also It could alow me to post an alert while out of network service, and as soon as I reach an area with coverage it could upload my alert.
