Private Rds vs PLRs
If a neighborhood has a security gate, or a private entrance, map it with a Private Road segment. Apartment complex driveways, parking lots and everything else gets a Parking Lot Road (PLR) segment.

Alleys
Named alleys should be mapped as Private Roads. Un-named alleys are mapped as Parking Lot Roads.
Walking Trails / Pedestrian Boardwalks

Pedestrian Boardwalks and Walking Trails It is our policy that we do not map Pedestrian Boardwalks. Waze is a navigation application, and Pedestrian Boardwalks do not add to that function, since they do not display on the map, and serve no routing purposes. Walking Trails are navigable in Waze, to a point, and may be utilized with prior approval from the State Manager. Any Walking Trails you find that do not serve an apparent purpose (routing to boardwalk addresses along the beach, for example) should be removed from the map. MA Management - June 2015 |
Ferries
Massachusetts has scheduled ferry service between Cape Cod, Nantucket, and Martha's Vineyard. Please consult with the State Manager before making changes to the ferry system.
