Pengenalan

Tempat adalah destinasi carian dalam Peta Waze. Ianya menerupai "Point Of Interest (P.O.I.)" yang ada pada alat popular GPS tertentu.

Kawasan pada tempat muncul sebagai poligon dalam aplikasi Waze. Terlalu banyak poligon boleh jadi berkelompok dalam peta dan boleh membuat Wazer keliru dan tidak dapat menyesuaikan diri dengan aplikasi Waze. Oleh itu, adalah penting untuk menggunakan kawasan bagi tempat yang tersendiri dan cukup penting untuk orientasi pemandu

Titik pada tempat tidak ditunjukkan dalam Peta Waze. Ia boleh digunakkan untuk membantu Wazer mencari tempat umum, terutamanya apabila tempat tersebut belum lagi disenaraikan dalam enjin carian lain.

Jadual Kategori Dan Jenis Tempat dapat memberi garis panduan untuk membantu penyuting peta membuat keputusan menggunakan Titik atau Kawasan.

Penentuan Kegunaan Kawasan Atau Titik

Berikut adalah petunjuk bagi Malaysia untuk memilih Kawasan atau Titik untuk Tempat dalam penyunting Peta Waze.

Landmarks

Any Place that functions as a landmark may be represented as an Area Place even if the table above indicates otherwise. A landmark Place is defined as a named, architecturally unique location, locally well known for its uncommon height or iconic exterior appearance, easily visible to and recognizable by passing drivers, that is visually and obviously unlike its immediate surroundings.
Landmarks are not to be confused with local references. A local reference is a location used for orientation by those who frequently pass near it. Every landmark is a local reference, but not every local reference is a landmark. For example, Putra Petronas Twin Tower is a landmark, while an ordinary tire shop with a big, brightly colored sign is a local reference.

Roundabout

In Waze, we do NOT name roundabout segments. These segments remain unnamed using the "No Name" checkbox for street name to enable proper routing. If the roundabout is a named circle on local signs, then add a Place area type set as a Junction/Interchange filling the center area or covering the roundabout as appropriate using the name that appears on the local signs.
