Editing Tips
- If converting from an Area type to a Point, ensure the destination marker is where the new point should be. bretmcvey experienced the App routing to the old marker spot instead of the new point place, which was resolved by converting to an Area, moving the marker, and converting back to a Point place.
Categories
- If the place you are editing does not fit into any one of the 120 Sub-Categories, use one of the 10 parent categories which best represents the place instead.
When to use Area or Point
- Large residential places such as apartment complexes with multiple streets may be considered for an Area place. They key factor is: is it an area used by multiple residents, which has its own name used in identifying the location to others who would visit? (emphasis on navigation for others)
This table is a supplement to When to use Area or Point
