Restricted crossing U turn (RCUT) intersection
The median crossing segments in a restricted crossing U turn (aka "J-turn" or "Superstreet") intersection should be set to the Ramp type.
RCUT Turn Instructions
Vehicles utilizing an RCUT / J-Turn will have two turn actions: one when entering the RCUT segment, and another when exiting the segment.
Entering RCUT Segment
Typically the Waze-selected prompt should be used at the entrance to the RCUT segment. Normally this would be "Keep Left", if typical geometry is used.
Exiting RCUT Segment
When exiting an RCUT / J-Turn segment:
- U-Turn. The turn should be specified as "U-Turn" voice prompt when the motion results in a U-turn for the driver.
- Continue. The turn should be specified as "Continue" voice prompt when the stopping point is directly (or almost directly) facing the next outbound segment.
- Left Turn. The turn should be specified as "Left Turn" voice prompt when the stopping point is not directly facing the next outbound segment (a further left-turning motion is still required).
