Based on information researched at the time this page was created, speed cameras are illegal statewide in Rhode Island, and red light cameras are legal statewide in Rhode Island.

No other camera types should be mapped in Waze.

Currently, red light cameras are only in effect at 15 intersections in the Providence area, and two intersections along US-1 in Charlestown.

Please see the Know your Cameras section of the Waze Wiki for help in identifying the different cameras in use. Remember, only red light cameras reported in Rhode Island should be mapped in Waze; all other reported cameras should be removed from the map.
