When using the Waze app, tapping once on the screen will bring up the "-", "+" and "North Compass" pointer. Pressing the "-" will back up the user view to increase the area seen in the map, but reduce ability to see lower level roads. Pressing the "+" will increase the view resolution by reducing the portion of the map displayed.

If the [[auto zoom]] feature is enabled, the view will return to the default level based on the auto zoom setting. To prevent this from happening, go to the auto zoom controls in the app and set it to "no auto zoom."

The north compass pointer toggles between the app always showing the map pointed up on the display, or placing the current heading of the driver as facing upward on the display.

Pressing the compass icon will reposition the view with the vehicle indicator in the center of the screen at the current designated zoom level.
