Wazeopedia is an interlinked knowledge community separated over different local communities. Wazeopedia is thriving over knowledge and content sharing between communities, in this help articles you will find tools that will help you do this more easily.
What is the easiest way to create links accross Wazeopedia wikis?
In order to create inter-Wazeopedia links please add the community name before linked page name in the Visual editor link popup, i.e. for linking the Exit left page in USA wiki add this in the popup: USA:Exit left
Interwiki page links in the source editor:
Use this syntax in the source editor:
[[wiki name:page name|link text]]
i.e - for creating a link to 'road' page in USA wiki use:
[[USA:Exit left|Exit left page on USA wiki]]
this will create this:
Exit left page on USA wiki
How can I use templates from other communities? (interwiki transclusion)
It is possible to use Global wiki templates in local wikis without importing them. In this manner, we can keep templates updated with the global source.
In order to transclude a template from the global wiki we will need to use this syntax in the wiki source editor:
{{Global:Template name}}
this will enable the use of the Global wiki template named Template name in the destination wiki.
In order to transclude a page from the main name space from the global wiki we will need to use this syntax in the wiki source editor (note the double colon mark):
{{Global::Page name}}
Or if the page is nested in a namespace than use:
{{Global::Name Space name:Page name}}
Where Name Space name is the name space prefix (i.e. - help:)
