Private messages (PM) are like emails sent to a single person and selected group of people. Inside Waze you can send a PM to another user if you have a question that is possibly confidential, private, or generally not meant for a wider audience. Most general communication will take place in the [http://www.waze.com/forum/index.php community forums], but the forums do not have a way to alert someone that a person is asking them a question. The PM will appear in the user's [http://www.waze.com/forum/ucp.php?i=pm&folder=inbox Waze inbox] with an email to their registered email account alerting them that they have a PM.
You can select more than one segment by holding down the Ctrl key  while clicking on each segment in turn.

Consider a case where you find a road segment that is not following the general guidelines of the Wiki and overall Waze community. Rather than post the user's name in the general forum, it would be better to send that user a direct PM asking the question and probably including a [[Waze Map Editor#Permalink|permalink]] to the segment in question. That will assure the user has the best chance of seeing the message, but it is still no guarantee they will read it or respond.
If you edit the details for multiple segments, the dialog box shows the common values for the select roads. If all the segments are from the same city, that city name will be displayed. If all the roads are two-way, then the two-way option will be displayed.

You can select more than one segment by holding down the Ctrl key while clicking on each segment in turn.

If you edit the details for multiple segments, the dialog box shows the common values for the select roads. If all the segments are from the same city, that city name will be displayed. If all the roads are two-way, then the two-way option will be displayed.

If the road properties in the Edit area are different, then the displayed value will be blank. If you leave it blank, the setting for each segment will not change. This allows you to, for example, change the city name for many roads, while leaving their street name or directionality unchanged.

If the road properties for Road Type, Direction, or Elevation are different, the box will display "multiple". If that box is left alone, it will not be altered for each segment. If that box setting is changed, it will change all the selected segments to the one setting.
