WHAT IS A SELF - ORGANIZED LOCAL MEETUP?

WAZE HYBRID LOCAL MEETUP

A yearly event planned and organized by local community leadership to gather new and experienced members and discuss issues which affect the local community.

The event usually spans 2 days, with the actual Meetup program lasting about 8 hours.

WAZE VIRTUAL LOCAL MEETUP

A flexible alternative to the Hybrid Model, designed to comply with local COVID-19 regulations. This The online event usually lasts between 2-4 hours.

WHEN IS MY COMMUNITY'S MEETUP?

If your community's Meetup data has been registered and approved, it will be listed on the Meetup Calendar and on the list of registered Meetups.

WHO SHOULD COME?

Any Editors who would like to get more involved in their local Waze Community can register to attend.

Registrations are approved by local community leadership.

Hybrid events can accommodate up to 30 in - person participants and an unlimited number of online participants.

HOW ARE THEY PLANNED?

Meetups are planned by community leadership. To find out more about the plans for your community and offer to help out, reach out to your Community Coordinator on your Local Community Forum.

Your community leadership (champs) are responsible for setting an agenda and reaching out to Waze's Communities Operation Manager to register the event.

HOW MUCH IN ADVANCE DOES WAZE NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE MEETUP?

Waze needs to know at least 1 month in advance for a virtual Meetup, and 3 months in advance for a Hybrid Meetup in order to provide the necessary planning resources.

WHO CHOOSES THE VENUE? (HYBRID ONLY)

Community leadership and Waze staff work together on the location and venue to ensure the event is easily accessible to community members. The community does not need to submit venue proposals.

venue will be chosen 3-4 months prior to the event. We will do our best to choose one of the hotels recommended by the community.

WHAT'S COVERED BY WAZE? ( HYBRID ONLY)

One night stay at the event hotel per community member, and food and beverage during the meeting (breakfast, lunch and 2 coffee breaks).

Transportation cost is covered to the city where the Meetup is being held, but will not cover the cost of additional transit to the Meetup location( taxi, rental car, etc.)

Travel insurance is not included. Participants of the event need to remember to activate their travel insurance policy.

WILL WAZE STAFF COME TO THE MEETUP? (HYBRID ONLY)

When possible, Hybrid Local Meetups will have official remote representation from Waze Staff. Official in-person representation will be on a case basis.

Virtual Local Meetups will have official remote representation from Waze Staff.

DOES WAZE BRING SWAG (T-SHIRTS, STICKERS, ETC.) ?

Yes, we will do our best to bring swag to the event - subject to local import laws.
