In Waze, the municipality name is currently the only way in Austria to reduce an area to the lowest denominator. Fields for towns or postcodes have long been eagerly awaited.
Normally, however, a street name in a municipality is unique, even if it takes a lot of getting used to for many, which makes the street naming the necessary uniqueness. This also makes it clear that all segments of a street must have the same designation (spelling !!!) in order to be recognizable as a street for Waze (see routing page keyword [Wie_Waze_Routen_kalkuliert#Fernstreckennetz]) and to minimize the time required for a route calculation.
Normally, however, a street name in a municipality is unique, even if it takes a lot of getting used to for many, which makes the street naming the necessary uniqueness. In Waze ist momentan in Österreich der Gemeindename die einzige Möglichkeit, ein Gebiet auf den kleinsten Nenner zu bringen. Felder für Ortschaften oder PLZ werden schon lange sehnsüchtig erwartet.
Im Normalfall ist ein Straßenname einer Gemeinde jedoch einzigartig, auch wenn das für viele sehr gewöhnungsbedürftig ist, womit die notwendige Eindeutigkeit der Straßenbenennung erreicht wird. Somit wird auch klar, dass alle Segmente einer Straße die gleiche Bezeichnung (Schreibweise!!!) haben müssen, um für Waze als eine Straße erkennbar zu werden (siehe Routing-Seite Stichwort [[Wie_Waze_Routen_kalkuliert#Fernstreckennetz|Gruppierung]])und den Zeitbedarf für eine Routenberechung zu minimieren.
